The end of my Market sewing assignments is finally in sight. I can’t wait to be deadline free next week! With so many little stacks of fabric waiting I may need one day just to figure out where to focus my attention.
Perhaps I should clean up and get organized first. Believe it or not, this is my sewing area BEFORE the Market sewing began. I’ll let you fill in the blanks on what it looks like right now. I’m not one of those people who has a lovely studio area and a perfectly clean, picked up sort of creating style. These two pictures don’t even begin to capture my “storage” areas for the fabric stash. Those are scattered all over our little house.
If I have a sudden surge of industrious energy, you might see an AFTER shot. Then again, I may just get sucked into another project immediately.
Tell me about your current projects. Or your current wish list of projects. I’m feeling a bit like a shut in over here, albeit a highly caffeinated one. Send some conversation my way and I will be very grateful.

LOVE IT! We have the same organizational style.
I’m so glad someone can recognize that as organization! That’s about as good as it gets around here.
I can’t believe you are coming up for air – you must have been working non stop on the projects for market. I saw your Zazzle post, looks like all the fabric in your work space could get a chance to make an appearance in your shop, some day in the future. So many new ventures! It is no wonder you need so much caffeine. You go girl!

It’s definitely time to come up for air! Caffeine only gets me so far. Fresh breeze and sunshine makes a difference too. So do comments from my favorite readers!
I’m exactly that organized as well! That is why my current project IS the studio rather than making something in the studio. I’m trying to purge so that everything will fit into one room and the family can have the odd drawer back, maybe even a coat closet. I’m hoping a good de-clutter will have the same effect on my brain as well. Yesterday was day one. I can actually move around the room now instead of following paths through the debris. Not much time today so I think I will purge a bookcase.
Fortunately, I only have to share with Mr. P and since he gets the entire garage for his stuff, he can’t really complain too loudly about fabric bins tucked into corners and overflowing into the living space.
Yep, My room is similar, but fabric piles are so nice to look at. Though I do have those times where I just have to tidy up so I know where everything is, but even that is still time in the sewing room and is fun. As for projects I’m working on…I’m playing with some Girls World, just a little quilt, not a super big one this time. I really should be making a new iPad cover for Phil because it’s his birthday next week. His old one is a bit ragged now. I’ll start that tonight, at least pull some fabrics out…I’m glad you can see the end in sight , that bin of yours looks very full, it’s probably the 10th one you’ve filled
It seems like every time I buy a new bin, it gets filled immediately. And besides the fabric bins, there are also yarn bins to include in the count.
I just started my own blog, which is a sort of project. I have a post drafted about my “studio” – which is actually my dining room. I can relate to your post in many ways, especially the fabric storage – bins all over my little house! ha ha Seeing yours and reading the comments also makes me feel good inside because it proves that you don’t have to have everything in perfect order to create awesome stuff. You know exactly what you’re doing, even if someone else doesn’t do it that way. Enjoy Market…you’re my hero!
Awww…thanks Amy! Good luck on your blog. I think you’ve gotten off to a great start over there.
Well look at you! I always wondered what your creative area looked like. I have to say, Melissa, we are soul sisters! LOL….looking at yours is like looking at mine right now. I’m actually going to my sisters for a sewing weekend. I took the day off work and am cooking up stuff for my family to eat over the weekend, then heading to Sarah’s. I’ll be thinking of you thinking of me!
