Welcome to this stop on the Generation Q premier issue blog tour! I’m excited you’re here. There will be a giveaway at the end so stick around. I promise not to get carried away talking about the magazine. But to be honest, it’s hard not to get carried away by this little magazine. When I say “little”, I mean size-wise. The magazine measures 7″ wide and 9″ tall, a great size for carrying around with you wherever you go. Because who knows when you’ll need a dose of color, humor, or fun new stuff on the market.
As for content, there’s nothing little about it. It’s full of projects, articles, and all the things you rely on in a magazine. Which is why I think it’s important to tell you just what Generation Q is not.
Generation Q is NOT:
- Boring repeats of things you’ve already seen a million times
- A bully pulpit for the Quilt Police
- An exclusive group
- Recycling yesterday’s, or yesteryear’s news
Instead, you’ll find a magazine geared toward having fun with your fabric and your friends. Funny, sometimes irreverent, quilting and sewing topics with emphasis on what’s happening now are found in its pages. As are projects complete with instructions and helpful tips. Generation Q wants us all to have fun, together. It doesn’t matter what your style is or if you even have a style. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to quilting or began your journey 50 years ago.
I’m thrilled to be part of this first issue alongside designers like Julie Herman, Heather Jones, and Rashida Coleman-Hale. My quilt is in great company. And I’m expecting great things in the future as more designers grace the pages of this alternative quilt magazine. (For a little back story on my quilt featured in the magazine, visit this post. )
If you love fabric, want to have fun and learn what’s new out there in the wild world of quilting, you belong to Generation Q.
