Restoring Order

Things have been a bit busy here lately. Summer usually involves house and yard projects here at Casa P. Inside the house, painting the dining room aka sewing room was on the list. On Friday I finished up the walls and started putting things back in order. Sewing area revampedNo small task with all the stuff jumbled everywhere–and that was before moving it out of the room so I could paint. But I got this wall done and I’m quite pleased with how the Love in the Afternoon quilt looks hanging there. (In case you’re wondering what fabric is behind the glass doors, that’s my Sassaman stash. More on my latest project using up some of it when I talk about Jane’s book tomorrow.)sewing roomI need find a few empty plastic bins for all the things you cannot see in the other two corners. And then figure out where to put said bins. It’s going to require a lot of this:Coffee, quilts & calmPam knows me well. I opened this package from her last week and had to chuckle. Only true coffee fiends can be calmed by caffeine. I think both of us qualify. Now for my second cup and a bit of straightening up around here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

What is with us sisters? Both of us on painting sprees!!! I just finished painting all the kitchen cupboards – inside, outside and cupboard doors! What a job!!!! I can’t do this any more! My body is getting too old for all the up and down and twisting to reach things inside and out. But the results are so rewarding! If only I could have new counter tops!

Unfortunately, IKEA no longer sells the glass doors like you have your shelves! Bummer! I love being able to see all your fabric.

    Love ya!

  4. Love in the Afternoon looks wonderful on your wall!! I spy a mini Gigi pincushion too. It’s fun seeing your sewing space. It’s such a white, light room. I’ve got a corner in my room I rarely dare to touch and yet I keep piling things there. Maybe I need a good strong drink to attempt it. Enjoy your coffee and your organising!

Beautiful eye-catching quilt on the wall there.

  6. Your quilt looks beautiful on your freshly painted wall! I totally understand about all the detail going into getting a room painted. I have a few finishing touches and then will be blogging about our kitchen. But if you are ever in Iowa, and feel the need to paint, we still have to do our dining & living rooms, so please…stop by! And I LOVE the mug! I think I need to invest on one of those! :)

I am partial to Kaleidoscope blocks, so the center medallion Kaleidoscope block caught my attention immediately. Melissa is the author of 100 Billion Stars blog.
