The holidays are in full swing. Some of us are more prepared than others, I’m afraid. I happen to be one of those who is lagging behind on decorating, gifts and general holiday merrymaking. If you’re like me, and you need a bit of Instant Christmas, you might be interested in these two books.I received these from Sterling Publishing this week for review. I’m under no obligation to give a glowing review; but let me tell you why you might be interested in these two books. Besides the Country Living part.
- They’re both happy holiday books and fun to peruse.
- They have lots of punch-outs and stickers (especially Deck The Halls) which is perfect for last minute gift wrapping, tags, place cards, recipe cards, ornaments, etc.
- They would make excellent gifts for young families building their own traditions. They would also be great gifts for someone just discovering joy in crafting handmade items for their friends and families.
The nostalgic air of Christmas fills the pages. They bring out childhood memories of the holidays and take you back to a time when simple pleasures gave the most joy. There are easy recipes in each book and crafty ideas for adding festive touches around your home, tree and table.
Sometimes we need to be reminded that we shouldn’t be stressing out about having the house perfectly decorated with the latest holiday craze. Nor do we need to exhaust ourselves with a gourmet meal replete with exotic ingredients and unpronounceable names. We just need to get in the spirit and enjoy the company of those we hold dear. And that’s the attitude of both of these handy books–stop stressing and start making happy memories!
