February is delivering a lot of distractions here at Casa P. Some of them are easy to deal with–like replacing the early 80’s hot water heater and finding the perfect talaveras pottery for the patio area. Other things, like the little guy above, were dealt with by just accepting the situation and letting Nature have her way. (The tiger moth caterpillars are enjoying a chard buffet in the garden. They’ll soon move on to their next stage of life and eventually we’ll have night pollinators for the garden.)Other distractions are not so easy to avoid. Like this growing stack of small strips from my Amy Butler scrap stash. The only way out of the distraction was through, as they say. I dealt with it by sewing up a some blocks. But that lead to a new idea, which required more blocks. Because the new idea requires the addition of Alchemy scraps (which are not yet in my stash), I had to put that project on hold.Despite the critters in the garden, the house project and the multiple fabric stacks waiting for my attention, I have managed to finish this little quilt. This is the one I spent last weekend hand quilting. I took some photos yesterday that still need editing. And the free pattern needs to be proofed. But within the next few days, I’ll be ready to post a reveal and give you all a chance at another giveaway.
How are you doing with your own distractions?
