For a lot of you, Spring seems like a faraway dream at the moment. With all the wintry weather out there, I thought you might enjoy a free pattern–something to boost your spirits and lighten the mood. I’ve put together a digital pattern for you which includes the instructions for the 6 1/2″ block (which yields a 12 1/2″ square when you join four of them together, for those of you whose brains are not yet thawed) as well as the yardage requirements and cutting instructions for a lap sized quilt.Adding another color to mix makes things even more Spring-like, as you can see below.I don’t have any minions, and certainly not enough time, to make an entire quilt with this block. I did, however, find time to make up one block and turn it into a large pincushion.Dena’s Little Azalea collection is perfect for this pattern. The center square is fussy cut, of course, as are the geese in the flying geese portions of the block. I can easily imagine a table runner for Easter or Mother’s Day, couldn’t you?
