Market Samples — Tanya Whelan’s Slipper Rose

Before May is gone completely, I better catch you up on the Market samples. You know…my proof that I haven’t been idle, that I really have been working. Besides Jane’s fun collection, I was sent some of Tanya’s Slipper Rose, enough to make Free Spirit’s free quilt and a handbag. Here’s how it turned out.Slipper Rose quiltCat approved, of course.Petey with Slipper Rose quiltAnd the little purse. I couldn’t resist adding a bit of satin ribbon.Slipper Rose handbagTanya’s fabrics are always decidedly feminine, begging for lace and ruffles and bows. Slipper Rose is already in shops. So if you like it, you better grab some for your stash. (The shelf life of fabric seems to be getting shorter and shorter with every season!)

Next time, I’ll show you the last minute projects in Free Spirit’s True Colors collections. And maybe by then, the kitchen will be ready for photos. Cross your fingers.

  5. That’s a very lovely, dreamy quilt and a sweet, cute little purse. I think these creations are just perfect to display the essence of Tanya’s signature palette and designs. In my stash I’ve got two Tanya Whelan collections, but I never seem to be long enough in the mood to make that quilt that does them justice.
