Market Samples — True Colors

Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s almost June!? While it is still May, I want to finish showing you the Market samples I worked up for Free Spirit. A last minute request for some True Colors projects resulted in a few fun items. First up, Joel Dewberry’s True Colors.JD True ColorsA quick table topper and a Cozy Cube, from Anna Maria Horner’s Seams to Me book, were whipped up in short order. They go so well with my little stash of Red Heart’s Soft yarn. Fortunately, I had a large granny square on hand for staging. JM TrueColors projectsNext, I jumped into my Jenean Morrison True Color stash. You may recognize my table topper from the True Colors blog tour. It took a little trip to North Carolina, then on to Pittsburgh, hopefully back to North Carolina and eventually back home to me. To go with it, I made an English Tea Cozy from Jane’s Pint Size Pattern, along with three Break Buddies (available in the Freebies section).Heather Bailey True Colors Anywhere BagAfter that, it was on to Heather Bailey’s prints. I chose my Anywhere Bag pattern to highlight these. A quick little fabric flower embellishment from charm squares and it was good to go.AMH True Colors pillowAnd for a fabulous finish to this last minute round of sewing, a fun patchwork pillow in Anna Maria’s prints. I incorporated a few pieces from Dowry to coordinate. Adding the buttons in place of quilting saved a bit of time while adding unexpected texture and color.

That wraps up the sample sewing, with the exception of a quilt in Dena’s Tiddlywinks collection of which I have no decent photo. As always, it was great fun to do all this work. It did help keep me distracted from some of the crazy kitchen stuff.

And speaking of the kitchen…it’s almost done! I even made new curtains yesterday. It was really hard to choose fabric, but in the end, I decided to start with voile cafe curtains. The two prints are Amy Butler designs, the bottom one from Hapi and the blue one from Cameo.AB voile kitchen curtainsNext week, I should have pictures of the end result to share. In the meantime, have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!

all such pretty things Melissa! Just what we have come to expect from you! I especially love the bag in its pinks and greens! And such classy handles! I wish we could source those more easily here in Australia. They give a really professional finish!

The first thought that popped into my strange little head was that if I were a cat I would love to roll around in your stash, lol! Thanks for a reason to laugh at myself today! Love that Joel Dewberry!

All your True Colours projects are wonderful. It just goes to show these are great fabrics for every project. I must say I’m particularly pleased to see Joel Dewburys wood grain fabrics in different colours. Your curtains are beautiful, I love that using the voile makes them look so light and floaty, and in return the light makes the fabrics glow.

Great eye candy to enjoy!! I love the Joel Dewberry table topper and (great idea!!) the Imperial State Crown for a lovely tea cozy. My absolute favorite is your AMH patchwork pillow. It shows once again that no matter how different the designs, the colors, the collections may be, they all come together in a glorious harmony, if they are created by a great artist like Anna Maria.
Your kitchen curtains are gorgeous!! So looking forward to the pictures of the end result
