Happy Friday! The week has been a blur for me. Lots of fabric messes at Casa P. It’s a good thing I’ve had time to work with Mod Corsage before all the sample sewing started up in earnest. (Free Spirit sent me the collection two months ago. Plenty of time to plan and play.) This Patchwork Carryall bag is a free pattern I did for Free Spirit in 2014. You can find it on the MakeItCoats website by following the link. What I really like about this easy pattern, besides the extra roomy size, is that you can easily transform it. You’ll see that I did not use blocks to create this patchwork. Instead, I used wide fabric strips. You can do whatever strikes your fancy. Just make the patchwork piece to size (20 1/2″ x 40 1/2″) and proceed as the pattern directs. It’s that simple.
I chose from the red colorway and added a bit of blue to mix things up. I also couldn’t resist adding a scrap piece of Anna’s ribbon from Renaissance Ribbons on the pocket. It was a perfect match.
Hawthorne Threads is taking pre-orders for Mod Corsage. You might want to get your order in to be sure you get what you want. I think this collection is going to go quickly.Time for me to get back to those fabric messes. No lazing for me. I have to leave all that to Stinka for the next week or so. She sends her Friday greetings in between hummingbird distractions.
Have a great Friday and relaxing weekend!
