Hello! Happy Monday to you. The last eight days were not what I expected. At all. An unexpected request for submissions, an emergency quilting job for Market and to top it off, a firm date for renovating the bathroom. Submissions are off (though I have another set to prepare this week) and the quilt is being shipped today. It’s the bathroom that is taking up a lot of time and brain space. Our little bungalow only has the one bathroom so we have a bit of an adventure ahead!Remember my print version of the Color Therapy quilt I made? (Type “color therapy” into the search box at the top right and you can see my posts about each block.) I had just taken it off the frame when I got the email about the emergency quilting on Thursday. Talk about perfect timing!
For this quilt, I used Superior Threads Omni polyester thread. It was my first time using this thread and I loved it! There’s hardly any lint to clean and the 40 wt. is perfect for all-over meanders.
This week, besides making design decisions about the shower enclosure and ordering plumbing hardware, I’m working on some virtual quilts. One collection seems to beg for applique. Which leads me to a couple of questions:
- Do you have preferences when it comes to applique? (Raw edged with fusing, needle turned no fusing, etc.)
- Do you have favorite supplies? (fusing, thread, etc.)
I’m off in my own little world here most of the time so your comments are valuable. As for myself, I usually choose my method based first on design and then on expedience.
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Have a great week!
