It’s November already! Can you believe it?! It’s time for a new collection for One Fabric Nation posts. This month, I’m sharing Tina Givens’ Rose Water collection. Lots of soft nostalgic hints in this one with generous amounts of florals.
When I first received this collection, I wasn’t sure how to proceed. These are not my typical saturated colors. I was tempted to isolate blue/green/gray prints and leave out the rest. But after staring at the stack from time to time, I realized mixing them all made the most sense.I used a simple hourglass block without any sashing or borders–five by six, for a total of 30 blocks. Unfinished blocks measure 9 1/2″. I quilted it on the frame with an easy meander using Masterpiece thread in Graystone (Superior Threads). It’s a nice and simple and lets the fabric play. For the back I chose to let the pink prints dominate. Just easy Width Of Fabric strips and some extra to make it fit on the sides. No intense brain power required.
This collection should be shipping to stores next month. The gray prints in particular will make great stash builders for scrappy quilters. And of course, anyone who loves florals and romance will be caught up in Tina’s magical vision for this one. I’ll share more details on the prints and ideas for you to mix and match throughout the month.
(Disclosure: As part of Free Spirit’s One Fabric Nation program, I received yardage of each sku in this collection. The only requirement from me is that I use it, blog it and hopefully, inspire you.)
