The weather is still a little too warm for working with worsted weight yarns. But while this project sits waiting for me to return, some organization was in order. Sitting or stepping on crochet needles is never a pleasant experience. Neither is digging around in drawers or boxes trying to find the size you need and remember seeing somewhere, darn it, but can’t for the life of you recall where exactly that was.
The solution–a fabric roll with compartments for them all, a top flap to keep them for sliding out and a ribbon tie to hold it all together. This roll resembles the canvas brush carriers you find at the art store. Only much more attractive. All you need are four rectangles and some bias strips. And voila!
A quick look inside:
This is Jane Sassaman fabric from her Prairie Gothic collection in the Dusky colorway. Fabric.com has a great deal going right now. One half yard is all you need unless you want to get a coordinating print for bias in which case get a half yard of it as well. Minimum cut is half yard so you will end up with scraps for other projects. Don’t worry…I have lots of ideas for those scraps!
