The biggest trick in my bag right now is organization. It is the only way I can sew through all the projects and stay ahead of schedule. Seeing my house, you might not believe I have any organizational skills whatsoever. But I promise you…they’re in action. I know where everything is in the piles of fabrics, stacks of notions and other general detritus of the sewing area. Well, almost everything. Keeping track of supply receipts, pattern notations and idea sketches is part of the organizational process. The Note Pad Holder is just the thing. I whipped one up in Anna Maria’s Field Study linen to sit by my sewing table and hold on to all those little bits of paper. The linen works wonderfully for this project–crisp turned edges and a sturdy-yet-soft hand. I use another one to keep track of my phone charger. You can make your own with my pattern, found here in my Etsy shop.
These make great gifts too. If you’re ready to start your holiday sewing, consider this for one, or more, of the handmade gifts you give this year.
It’s back to the salt mines for me. I hope you enjoy this first day of October.
