In the flurry of activity earlier this year, I completely forgot to share this project with you. Somewhere in the middle of the kitchen remodel I had plans to work up the details and get some photos. Surprisingly, that never happened. Better late than never, right? Right! It’s a small English Paper Piecing (EPP) project, just right for beginners and gift giving. (Christmas is 120 days away, by the way!) It uses 2″ squares and 2″ octagons (measured on one side). I used papers from Paper Pieces, but I’ve included the pieces on the little pattern so you can make your own template if you desire.
I used my friend Jenean‘s Wishing Well fabric for this one. The nostalgic feel of the collection makes for a happy little topper. Wouldn’t it look wonderful on an old farm table with a pitcher full of daisies? I did a minimal amount of quilting using pearl cotton and big stitching, but you could do all kinds of fun free motion quilting with this design as well.
