Have I reminded you lately about Christmas? How’s it fast approaching? I realize time is running out and that I’ve bombarded you with ideas for ornaments, gifts, more gifts and decorations. But here’s one more. This free pattern is available at Free Spirit’s blog. Just click here for the details.
The Mini Tree Skirt is great for small trees. It’s also a great size for your holiday table’s centerpiece. A bit of greenery and a candle would snuggle nicely on top of this quilted skirt. Now some of you may think that the piecing and quilting is too time consuming. But it comes together quickly and the results are so pretty. Worth every moment.
I used a blanket stitch to finish the scalloped edges. But you could smooth them all out to make a perfect circle and finish the edge with binding. For the quilting, I simply sewed down the center of each piece. Nothing fancy. The buttons accenting the edge are varying styles and sizes in red, white and green.
The fabric is Tanya Whelan’s Delilah in the green and red colorways. Perfect for holiday merrymaking. So get in the Spirit of Christmas and head over to Free Spirit for the pattern.
