Hello, again. I did not plan to be quiet this long! But I procrastinated on getting some photos last week and by the end of the week, wham! Back to back migraines. It’s been awhile since I had a double whammy hit me. I’m remembering how much it takes out of you. But enough of that!! That’s not any more fun to talk about than it is to experience. So let’s move on to fabric, shall we?!I wanted to make a scrappy type of project for you out of Amy’s Dreamweaver. It’s one thing to see all the cut bits out there. It’s another thing to to see them made up into something you would actually use. So, I chose to make a friendship braid section and use it as a table runner. Actually, I made two and then sewed them end to end so that they would “point” in opposite directions. You can find my instructions for making a braid here. Here it is again with a fancy bowl to anchor it. Those mandarin oranges are from our Algerian tangerine tree (also known as Clementine). Soon, the Satsuma mandarin orange tree will be giving us candy sweet fruit as well. As I considered what to incorporate into the photo, I thought some of you might appreciate the pop of citrus color. Imagine, if you can, the wonderful smell when you start to peel them. Heaven! From the leftover strips, I made myself a mug rug complete with pink heart. It’s just perfect for having a spot of afternoon tea with a freshly picked orange. The only thing missing from this tableau is some dark chocolate. And you, of course! We could sit down to nice cuppa and some crafting conversation. Forgot those dang Christmas lists.
Life is too short not to savor fresh oranges and virtual friends!
