Quilts for little boys can be troublesome. As an infant they’re not old enough to have preferences. Usually Mom has the preference. And it can be hard to find the right balance between eye catching colors and a soothing feel.
For this wall hanging, I chose new and old Sassaman prints. The blue and gold dots are from the current Sunshine and Shadow collection. The other print is “vintage”. (Yes, all the other blocks are cut from one print. That’s the beauty of fussy cutting big prints.) But they all play well together.
I think my new little nephew is going to like staring at it. And I think his mommy and daddy are going to like it too. Which will make their little family happy. Which makes me happy too. And sort of makes up for them being so far away.
