The week sure went fast, didn’t it? We’ve rolled around to Friday already. There are some big projects in the works–a throw sized quilt, a bag and pillow. But I can’t show you those yet. In between completing those projects and writing up patterns for them, I’ve been playing with small pieces. Like these scraps I had leftover from the Parson Gray version of the Directional quilt. It’s possible these HSTs will become a mug rug. Like these Amy Butler scraps…I also cut up the scraps from the-projects-I-can’t-reveal-yet. Tiny little 1 1/2″ squares along with some rectangles. This is Anna Maria Horner fabric. The gray flower print is from her Skipping Stones collection which is shipping to stores this month. (You may recognize the print itself, Coreopsis, from the Loulouthi collection.) These make awesome neutrals. I’ll be stocking up on some of these, for sure.I also started a pair of socks with this yarn…I’m using very tiny circular needles. One reviewer posted it was a bit like knitting with match sticks. She’s not wrong, but holy cow! I love not having to deal with DPNs. I’m using these. Bamboo needles are my favorite and Clover makes a great product so it’s a win-win for me.
Of course, just as this pretty yarn arrived, so did our heat wave. But it’s still winter (no matter what the thermometer says) and I’m still determined to get a pair socks knit this year.
Have a Happy Friday and a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I’ll see you back here next week.
