Appreciating the Endless Possibilities of the Creative
My Story
Hello and welcome! My name is Melissa Peda. I am an autodidact, book lover, coffee fiend, seamstress, crafter, quilter, designer, etc. who finds meaning and purpose in the Creative Life. My goal is to share my enthusiasm and encourage you to create.
I have been sewing and creating for over four decades. Over the last dozen years, I have worked as a freelance designer designing quilts and lifestyle projects for magazines and FreeSpirit/Westminster Fibers. You may have seen my work at Quilt Market or in the pages of Generation Q, McCalls Quilting, Stitch Magazine, and Quiltmaker or in kits at Craftsy. It’s been a great journey full of wonderful people and beautiful fabric.
Putting myself out here on the Internet took some convincing. (Thank you, Jane!) But it’s been worth it to share my passion for fabric, color, and handmade and to meet so many people who share my enthusiasm. I hope your time here will inspire you on your own journey.
My hope is that you will find a safe, nurturing environment here at 100 Billion Stars, a place where you feel comfortable and at home. You are always welcome here.
NOTE: This new version of my website uses Squarespace hosting. I chose not to import all of the old Word Press content, instead curating the most popular pdf files for download in the Gallery. If you’re looking for something with a broken link or can’t find an older project of mine, just send me an email through the Contact page. I’m happy to help.
